This is the view from in back of the Florence Griswold Museum. My grandmother, Breta Longacre DelMar painted there in the early 20th century when Miss Florence reigned and the colony was in full bloom. The view is about the same today, but I did omit the houses that weren't there 100 years ago. [FYI: I painted a bigger version of this same view a few years back]

Star Island Vista
12" x 48" canvas' painted edges $450

Star Island is one of the small islands in the Isle of Shoals on the New Hampshire and Maine border. I went there as a kid when I was 4 - five years old, and it has always popped into my head every now and then. I returned in 2010, ostensibly as a volunteer to help prep the island for the summer conferences, but mostly to soak in the salt air of the Atlantic and the craggy beauty of the island. This painting took several months to complete, but I was able to finish it the day of my reception at the Sandman Gallery in Meriden.

Preston Avenue Barn - $300

18" x 36" acrylic. Unframed - edges are painted

This old barn has been slipping away over the past several years, but it survived yet another winter. I keep thinking that it has seen it last winter, but I thought that last year. There is a quality to this construction that reflects the time when it was built. May it last another winter...

An early winter view of the well-known ski slope in southern Vermont.

18" x 24" acrylic on stretched canvas - plein aire gold frame - $325
This is a winter view from the back of the Florence Griswold Museum where my grandmother, Breta Longacre Del Mar, once painted.

Guthrie Center - Great Barrington MA
18" x 24" acrylic on canvas board $350 - gold plein aire frame

This is the former church where "the Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat" of "Alice's Restaurant" fame was eaten. Arlo Guthrie bought the building a few years back and now it is home to the Guthrie Center in Great Barrington MA. There is a wonderful music series there during the summer and it is one of nicest venues I've been too. While it may have been deconsecrated as a church 40+ years ago, it retains a sense of community and spirituality.

Castle Craig - Meriden CT
16" x 20" acrylic on canvas - 2009

This is the city's landmark in the hanging hills on the west side of Meriden. It is currently hanging at Gallery 53 in Meriden.

Postcards of this painting are also available through me and at Gallery 53 in Meriden. Just $1.00!

End of the Road - Chester VT
11 x 14" acrylic in barnwood frame - 2009

This old Dodge was on the side of Rt. 103 on the road into Chester VT and has been there for a number of years. There was no "for sale" sign on it. Still there as of July 2015

Urge for Going - Brattleboro VT
16" x 20" acrylic - $325 SOLD

We went up to Brattleboro in May and I got up early to take some pictures. This is based on a photo I took over the Connecticut River looking at the New Hampshire hills on a cloudy, foggy morning as the sun was breaking through.

(note - the top of the photo is reflecting some of the light in the gallery - it needs to be rephotographed)

This is the third in an unplanned series of views of this view from Meigs Point at Hammonasset State Park in Connecticut.

Star Island Chapel
16" x 20" acrylic on canvas - silver wooden frame

Off the coast of New Hampshire on the Maine border are the Isle Of Shoals. This chapel is on Star Island where I spent only a week for two consecutive years when I was 6 or 7 and the island remains a vivid image to this day. Update: I returned in 2010 and took a lot of pictures and have painted three canvases from that visit to date.

Rensselaerville Snow - Rensselarville NY
11" x 14" acrylic on canvas - NOT FOR SALE

My parents used to have a summer place in Rensselaerville. One winter few years back, we went up there to see how the place was doing. The photos I based this on were taken on the hill in back of the house.
